Overview And Experience

Tanya advises individuals and closely-held businesses in the areas of estate planning, business succession planning, and estate administration.  For over twenty years Tanya’s clients have entrusted her to help them protect two of the most important things in their lives – their families and their businesses.

Tanya has extensive experience in helping business owners buy and sell their businesses. She also advises clients who are starting new businesses.

While in college Tanya interned for the Honorable Willis P. Whichard of the North Carolina Supreme Court.  After law school she practiced with the Raleigh firm of Manning, Fulton & Skinner, P.A.  In 2005, Tanya formed Hervey & Hervey, P.A. with her husband, Ben.

Tanya was an adjunct professor at Campbell University Law School from 2011-to 2015, teaching the Estate Planning Seminar class. Tanya has been recognized by Business North Carolina magazine as one of North Carolina’s Legal Elite in the area of Tax/Estate Planning (2006, 2010, 2013, and 2017), and she was recognized by Triangle Business Journal as a “40 Under 40” award winner (2002).

Order of the Coif, North Carolina Law Review, Millard S. Breckenridge award for excellence in the study of taxation

Meredith College, B.S. degree in Business Admin./Accounting, 1993, summa cum laude, academic excellence award for graduating senior with the highest grade point average
